We dealt with that problem on many an occasion.

What to do after a water damage event has occurred?

It is vital that you have your home inspected by a professional, the sooner the better so you can get any repairs taken care of and move forward as soon as possible. After all, if your house was flooded, who knows what other problems you may have lurking deep within the walls.

Before you sign on the dotted line it is important to remember some things.  When dealing with a water damage company or deciding on who to hire to repair your property, here are a few tips that will help:

Ask to see a copy of their insurance. Ask to see a copy of their license. Don’t pay in full, before the job is completed. Double check your coverage with your homeowner’s policy or renters insurance. Check references and if you have any questions ask them when they call.

Be sure to get it all in writing! You get what you pay for.  That is the main point here, many water damage companies will cut corners and not do a good job because they are just doing it to make a quick buck off of your misfortune. Just be careful, this applies to all aspects of life in general!
